Creative Grooming Seminar and Workshop with Lori Craig

Join OPAWZ and OPAWZ Educator Lori Craig in this 2-day seminar featuring live demos and hands-on workshop! 

📅 Seminar dates: November 21 and 22

📍 Location: 5-120 West Beaver Creek Rd, Richmond Hill, ON

Students who sign up and complete both days of the seminar and workshop will receive a certificate from OPAWZ and Lori.

🏅 Students will also have the option of entering the OPAWZ hosted creative grooming contest at the November Pet Expo!

Day 1 (Nov 21 | THU): Live demo and Seminar - Full day
Live demo on a real dog, covering dyeing techniques, how to achieve bright and clean colors, and salon creative insights. Plus, introduce essentials of creative grooming competitions based on Lori's experience. 

Day 2 (Nov 22 | FRI): Workshop - Full day
Hands-on practice. Students will work on real dogs (or model dogs) with Lori's guidance and receive expert tips along the way. 

Day 3 (Nov 23 | SAT): OPAWZ Creative Grooming Contest @ Pet Expo
Competitors will have 3 hours to work on finishing touches on their work. Lori will be the judge and choose the top 3 as well as provide feedback.

About Lori Craig:

Lori has been grooming since 1996. She went to Academy of Professional Dog Grooming. During school she started working at Classic Pets & Grooming. In September of 1997 she opened Doggie Styles Grooming. In 2019 her salon was awarded the winner Top Local Pet Groomer in Oklahoma.

Lori has gone on to be a multi-award-winning creative stylist and instructor. She has placed in almost every creative competition she has entered. She has been featured four times on the cover of Groomer-to-Groomer magazine with her artistic creations.

She has had the privilege of teaching creative grooming skills to groomers all across the USA and around the world, including countries such as Singapore, Scotland, Ireland, England and Canada. Her work has also been featured on TV shows.

Dye:
We will provide two sets of 8oz permanent dye for students to use and share. If additional dye is needed, students can purchase it at wholesale discount - 20% off.

Bringing a Dog:
Students are welcome to bring a dog, but please note that the size must not exceed that of a standard poodle.

We will have one tub available for rinsing, but due to space limitations, students may need to rinse their dogs one by one, which could take some extra time. Please be prepared for this on Day 2 of the seminar.

Preparation for Day 2 Workshop:
Given the limited time, it is not possible to complete an entire design within a single day. We strongly recommend that students complete 50%–70% of their work before the Day 2 seminar. This will allow our educator to focus on providing personalized guidance to everyone.

For Students Without Dogs:
If you are not bringing a dog, you may purchase a wool pad or a model dog & wig from OPAWZ at a 20% discount.

Creative Grooming Contest Discount:
Students registered for the seminar can enjoy a 20% discount on entry fees for the Creative Grooming Contest on November 21st. A discount code will be emailed to seminar attendees.
